| MIYAKO POSTMASTER TOMIYAMA JOJIN At some moment after mid-1964, TOMIYAMA Jojin, the Postmaster of the postal system in the Miyako Gunto prepared a series of “Display Sheets”, each containing twenty nine types of the “postmaster provisional” regular postal issues used in the Gunto between 1 February 1946 and 30 June 1948. The stamps used on each sheet were from genuine, remainder stock that TOMIYAMA had kept, though the cancellation (23.6.30 = 1948.6.30) is simply a back dated strike indicating the last day of normal validity. Six such Display Sheets are known at present, all illustrated below [at the writing, in 1997, of the 3rd edition if Part III of the Society’s Specialized Catalogue... only four were attested: see pp. 136-138].
